Morning Workshop

At heart, in every story, despite their infinite variety, your characters are on a journey on which they are challenged and are changed. Those stories have stages, and those stages can be outlined, and mapped. This workshop will show how to approach your work by becoming aware of the hidden architecture within it, and through using each scene to drive your characters' journeys onwards.

Afternoon Critiquing on Plot Structure

  • Critiquing will be led by Luke McCallin, focusing on plot structure
  • Fiction and non-fiction are welcome; limited to 8 readers
  • Bring a brief plot summary and an excerpt of the work, limited to maximum 1,400 words in total (plot and excerpt)
  • Sign-ups in advance; please bring 20 printed copies
